R-0 on cable line and ESP motor after preventive flush

ESP preventive flush: zero insulation on the cable line and ESP motor.

Hello colleagues. Please share experience.

We ran a preventive ESP flush. At about 15 m3 injected the unit tripped to zero insulation. Because run life was still short, we decided to restart without IMD (insulation monitoring device). The downhole sensor (TMS) had been dead from push-button start, but the pump had been run gently - high fluid level, low frequency.

On restart it would not spin; after the start button the star (wye) indication dropped out.

On pull at 600 m on the cable line we found a rub mark and, in the same spot, a burn-through of two conductors. On POOH the motor also read 0 MOhm.

My read: the motor went to zero first, then the cable burned when we tried to start without IMD. Or did it happen the other way?

On the cable I can guess: at 600 m it was not in liquid, the armor was rubbed and damaged, and during the flush, once it contacted water, it burned through. The rub mark at the burn bothers me - that depth was not actually in liquid; this was our first flush on this well.

How do we pin this on the workover crew at the quality review? Anyone been through this?

Flush was with water about 1 h after shutdown.

Приветствую коллеги. Прошу помочь поделится опытом. Проводили профилактическую промывку ЭЦН, на 15м3 закачки установка занулила. Из за небольшой наработки было принято решение запускать без УКИ (тмс с кнопочного запуска не работал, но насос эксплуатировался по щадяще, с высоким уровнем и на низкой частоте) При запуске не пошла, после нажатия на кнопку звезда пропала. При подъеме ЭЦН на 600м на КЛ обнаружена притертость и в этом же месте прогар 2х жил. Но! при демонтаже двигатель тоже 0 мОм. Как я понимаю, вначале занулил движок, и потом при попытке запуска без УКИ прогорел кабель. Или по другому это произошло? Про кабель могу предположить, что на 600м в жидкость он не погружался, был притертый и поврежденной броней, и при проиывке сконтактировав с водой произошел прогал. Наличие притертости кабеля в месте прогара мне не дает покоя. место прогара реально не погружалось в жидкость, промывку делали впервые. Как нагнуть ТРС на ПДК? Если ли опыт в такой ситуации?

Did you flush through the annulus? Then the cable was in liquid.

How long did you run without insulation protection, or start-stop?

Did you flush with the unit energized?

Did you watch motor temperature during the flush?

Were you unsticking it (breaking a seize) during the flush or before?

Промывку проводили через затруб? Вот кабель и в жидкости. Без защиты по изоляции долго работали или пуск-стоп? Мылись на включенную установку? В процессе промывки за температурой двигателя следили? Расклинивали может быть в процессе или до этого?

We flushed through the annulus into the running ESP. Trip on protection after about 1 h.

The operator tried to start - no spin, protection trip. We called the ESP service company; they confirmed no insulation. Another try - no spin. In the end there were 3-4 attempts for sure.

Data cannot be pulled from the VSD (of course); I wrote the timeline from memory.

Промывались через затруб на рабочий УЭЦН. остановка по ЗП примерно спустя 1 час работы. Оператор попытался запустить, не пошла - ЗП. Далее вызвали ЭПУ - подтвердили отсутствие изоляции. Снова попытка - не пошла. в итоге 3 - 4 попытки точно было. Инфа с СУ не снимается (как назло), хронологию расписал по памяти
